Dr. Peter Brownrigg Prioritizes Honesty and Empathy

Dr. Peter Brownrigg focuses on facial plastic surgery and uses techniques that can minimize scarring and provide beautiful results. Dr. Brownrigg is always honest with his patients and takes time to understand their concerns before giving his professional opinion. During his training, he learned about different types of plastic surgery, but was most fascinated by rhinoplasty.

Dr. Brownrigg: I came back to Ottawa 28 years ago to be the facial plastic surgeon at the University of Ottawa, and we’ve been here since. In my training, I got exposed to lots of different surgery. The one thing that got me going the most was rhinoplasty surgery. Sandra: Coming here to Dr. Brownrigg’s office, you’re going to get an honest opinion from him. It’s not always what you want to hear. I’ve seen him sometimes turn people away because he feels that it’s not something that they really need. He’s a very honest surgeon. Dr. Brownrigg: I hope my patients feel that we empathize with them and understand them. Sometimes it’s more important to listen to people rather than to cut them off and tell them what they need. I want to understand what it is that they perceive as the problem
