Well, no one actually needs a face lift. It's more who wants a face lift. As we age, gravity pulls on things. We lose some elasticity and we age. We age normally. It's when they want to improve their appearance but at the same time don't want to look operated or overly pulled or some of the stigmata that goes along with the surgeries. I think patients should meet a number of surgeons. There has to be that special magic between the patient and the doctor. If the patient doesn't feel that that is the right person, she should see someone else. In terms of duration of the procedure, it's usually in the two and a half to three and a half hour range. Recovery has improved over the years. Today, with advances in terms of Artiss or Tisseel under the skin flaps, most people are out socializing within two weeks.
